Q. What are the resizing policies?
A. Resizing services are complimentary in some circumstances. If you purchase your ring with The Jeweller's Shop and you need to have your ring re-sized shortly after your purchase we will work with you to make sure you are completely happy with your new jewelry.
If you own a ring and after some time it needs to be enlarged, there may be a charge because we will need to add more material such as gold, silver or platinum to make your ring larger.
Some metals such as tungsten and titanium cannot be resized.
Q. Should the wedding band metal match the engagement ring?
A. We are asked many times if the jewelry metals need to match, such as yellow gold with yellow gold, or if mixing metals like platinum and rose gold is okay. The Jeweller's Shop generally recommends matching metal types and karat weights so the rings wear down evenly over time.
Q. Which metal is the most durable for daily wear?
A. Platinum 900 with 10% Iridium, is the most durable precious metal that we work with for lifelong structural integrity and stone security.
Pure gold (24k) is soft for daily wear, but 14k gold is alloyed with stronger metals like copper and zinc to provide a resilient balance of beauty and strength. 24K gold scratches more easily than platinum or white gold, but it is easy to polish, repair, and resize.
For White Gold we add Rhodium for surface durability and scratch resistance properties.
Q. Custom Design Jewelry Questions - How long does it take to design a custom piece of jewelry.
A. The Jeweller's Shop typically takes approx. 10 business days. There are many factors that will determine the finished product and delivery date. However, you can expect most custom designed jewelry pieces in 10 business days.
Q. How much does it cost to design a custom designed piece of jewelry?
A. There are many factors that determine costs. The material such as gold, silver or another metal, diamonds, gemstones, size , the amount of diamonds and gemstones along with the complexity of the design. These are the main cost factors.
